If you like a light-hearted read mixed with action, comedy, sarcasm, sexual tension and Toblerones then I recommend you give The Heist a chance.
So what’s it about? Well, without going into too much detail, The Heist shares its narrative between two main characters. Leading the charge is Special Agent Kate O’Hare. Yes, she’s an FBI operative and yes she is also the stereotypical, hardworking female agent who lives for her job. (Think Sandra Bullock in Miss Congeniality but a more switched on version and not one to be accident prone.) She is obsessed with catching the dashing and highly skilled con man Nick Fox who just happens to be the second main character *cue dramatic music* That’s right, enter character number two; the man with the looks, smarts and confidence to swindle millions from the wealthy and continually evade the FBI with over the top plans and distractions. *golf clap*
The story follows Kate as she tries to intercept Nick during one of his scams and eventually evolves into a complicated working partnership between the two. It makes for a perfect introduction for a new series but also reads well as a stand alone novel. I look forward to reading the sequel The Chase.
